From Public (Government) Sources to Producers: The project was financed by the governments of Queensland and Australia as part of their long term response to unusual drought conditions in Southeast Queensland. The overall projects, called, the Western Corridor Water Recycling Project (WCWRP) is the largest recycled water project in the Southern Hemisphere and the third largest recylced water project in the world, estimated to cost $2.5 billion AU. The project includes 200 kilometers of underground pipelines and three new advanced water treatment plants, one of which is at Bundamba.
