The bridge carries 8 traffic lanes plus a pedestrian lane. The main span is more than 1100 feet long. The reinforced concrete pylons are nearly 400 feethigh and support the deck by two planes of stay cables.

Direct Cash Support: Initially the project was funded through the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority, and construction was commenced in 1989. Construction stopped in 1991 after bridge footings were installed, as a result of economic recession. Federal funding for the project was received in 1992, and construction was recommenced.
