Substantial Alteration of Existing Facility
One in a series of single fiscal year contracts for seasonal application of all Pavement Markings in the City of Chelsea, including crosswalks, center lines, lane lines, arrows, RR crossing, safety zones, curbing, sidewalk, roadway warning markings, and parking areas. One year contract is extendable for a second year before rebidding required.

Invitation for Bid -- evaluation solely based on price. Bid security, as well as performance and payment bonds in the contract amount are required. The key advantage to the City is that there pavement markings are routinely maintained and subject to Liquidated Damages if not timely marked.

IFB format regularly used by the City of Chelsea for focused services. The Spec includes very detailed requirements for materials, application, and methods. The Specification includes the required contract provisions, which are in compliance with applicable procurement laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The term is one year, renewable for an additional year, before rebidding.
