Description: $400 million replacement and reconstruction of 2.5 mile long Route 52 Causeway from Ocean City (NJ) to Somers Point (NJ). The project replaces an aging crossing that includes two drawbridges with tall, fixed spans 55 feet over the water. Bicyclist and pedestrians had been forbidden to use the existing crossing, which has no shoulders and no sidewalks. The new bridge includes a 10-foot wide bike path.
