Description: Mooresville constructed a conventional surface water treatment plant with a capacity of 12 MGD. The plant was designed to be expandable to 24 MGD and ultimately to 30 MGD. With the expansion in mind piping, pump stations, chemical feed systems, standby power generation, etc, were sized to handle the future capacity. The plant has on site storage for 8 MG of raw water and 8 MG of finished water. In conjunction with the construction of the treatment plant, the raw water intake was renovated with new screens with a capacity of 40 MG and new piping to a new Raw Water Pump Station.
