Description: The Alto Tietê Water Project consists of 5m3/sec expansion of the potable water treatment system at the Taiaçupeba Reservoir, since Sao Paulo, the fastest growing state in Latin America (7.8% in 2004), is running out of water for its industries and its people. Its contract also involves silt treatment generated by the WTU; construct 17,7 kilometers of water tubes; 4 reservoirs with capacity of storing 70 millions liters of water; and provide System Maintenance. The contract's term is of 15 years and the investments required are of U$192 millions .
