: Federal Government authorized, through permit issued by the Secretary of War, to proceed both with the design and construction of the bridge across the channel, and to make use of federal land on both sides for support and access structures.

: To finance the construction of the bridge and to secure the repayment of debt caused by a shortfall in estimated revenues, citizens in the the counties of San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Napa, Humboldt, and Del Norte voted to create the Golden Gate Bridge Highway and Transportation Authority under California law, and to provide that debt incurred by the new Authority would be secured by taxes on private property in the supporting counties.
