Description: Kowloon Bay Waste Transfer Station (with 1800 tons per day capacity) is one of 14 collection stations acquired by the government on a DBO basis in Hong Kong to collect solid waste for later shipment to strategic landfills. Separately competed, using the same procurement procedures as used in the WENT, SENT, and NENT strategic landfills. Operator is responsible for design, construction, finance, O&M in compliance with pre-established Project Brief that prescribes the location, general design, and operating requirements for each transfer station. Kowloon Bay design capacity is 1800 tons per day.

Comments: Waste transfer stations are fully enclosed so that operational noise is minimized, air inside each station is under a slight vacuum, and constantly treatment with purification systems before being released into the atmosphere.
