Description: Substantial upgrade of facilities constructed in the early 1980's to treat wastewater before discharge in the Withlacoochee River, part of the Suwanee River Basin. The upgraded facilites have a capacity of 8.0 MGD as an average annual daily flow with capability to treat peak flows up to 12.0 MGD. During a 2009 flood, the old facility was out of commission for over a week, and was not restored to full operations for over a month. The new plant is located on a 75 acre parcel 1 miles away and 100 feet higher
