Description: The 80/90 PUSH Project will reconstruct over 70 miles of pavement and make improvements to 53 bridges along the Interstate 80-90 corridor across the northern edge of Indiana. The project runs from mile maker 20 in the west near Lake Station to mile marker 93 in the east near Elkhart. The project has been undertaken by the Indiana Toll Road Concession Company (ITRCC), which is the DBFOM concession operator of the Indiana Toll Road. The purpose of the project is not only to make the roadway safer and smoother, but to change the nature of the ongoing O&M obligations connected to this portion of the Toll road. The project will reduce life cycle costs by changing the condition of the assets to only require routine maintenance. The goals of the project are these: (i) Reduce the level of maintenance required in the future. (ii) Provide a smoother and safer road to improve travel conditions and lower vehicle operating costs. (iii) Widen key bridges to reduce crash risk. (iv) Upgrade the ITR communications system to enable more efficient response to customers. (v) Deliver state-of-the-art technology to improve safety and customer service.
