Atlantic Bridge, Colon, Panama

New bridge at the Northern (Gulf of Mexico) side of Panama spanning the Panama Canal, and providing a third-high clearance crossing over the recently expanded canal. Louis Berger and China Communications Construction Company were the designers. A consortium of Acciona, Odebrecht-Hyundai, and Vinci Construction submitted bids for the project. Vinci was selected in October 2012 as the constructor. The new bridge includes a 530 meter main span. The east and west approach roads and viaducts are more than 2000 meters. It is the longest concrete four-lane cable-stayed structure in the world.
